Des Australiennes au collège!

Mme Merle et sa classe ont accueilli ce matin trois jeunes Australiennes de Brisbane.

Un grand merci à Zeli, Greta, Katie et leur professeur de français Mme Del Vecchio du collège "Hallows" pour s'être rendues disponibles pendant leur séjour linguistique en France!

Nous espérons vivement continuer cet échange par messagerie électronique et leur souhaitons un bon retour dans le Queensland.

Meeting with Australian girls

INTRODUCTION

.We are going to talk about the Australian girls which we met on the 29th of September. They came to France for ten days and after they came in Nice. They came to Nice, for a school trip. So they decided to come to our school to talk about their lifes in Australia.

AUTRALIA

. Australia is a very big country, but an enormous desert took a large part of it. No one lives there, because there is no vegetation, no water and it is too hot, up to 55 degrees.

Even if they don’t live in the desert the temperature is really high and most of the people have a swimming pool and spacious houses, because, first, Australia is a giant country, there is a lot space, and second, everyone has a good situation. Their houses are on the east coast. Australia is an extraordinary country with its impregnable landscapes and it’s coral ruf but however very distant from the center of the world.

THE ANIMALS

. They also talked about the Australian animals which live in Australia.

In Australia,they are a lot of dangerous species, like giant spiders or venomous snakes. They told us that, in Australia, there is a spider as large as a bird. There are also a lot of sharks, and some alligators in the rivers. Alligators or crocodiles are really dangerous because they can run, swim and jump.

SCHOOL SYSTEM

. Three girls go to a private school only for girls, inside they must wear a blue uniform. They wear a skirt, a shirt, and a hat. Every morning there is a meeting with the headmaster to check if they have make-up or nail polish and a clean uniform. Every school in Australia are very strict. They have their own orchestra and team of criquets. Indeed it’s very different of french schools.

.It was really interesting to talk with them because we heard a new accent, discovered a new way of life. It’s too bad to see them only for a hour because we had many questions and they were really kind and sympathic.
